The Words I Wish I Had written! " While I was a Sophomore in college, I wrote in my diary: ' I develop my views from the existing pool of knowledge and I will adopt my views when I learn more. The only permanenet view that I have is that there is a God. My views are based on the basic fundamental law of Nature and Physics that I am now aware of. As man learns more about his environment I will change my theory to accomodate new knowledge. Religion should be dynamic and change and always advance, not in a state of stagnation.( Temple Grandin) "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."(Margaret Mead) "Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day." (Jim Rohn) "Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones tend to take care of themselves. (Dale Carnegie)

Farid-ud Din Attar's Seven Valleys
-as in his Manteq al-Tair (Conference of Birds).

1) Valley of the quest (talab)
2) Valley of love (esh’q)
3) Insight into mystery (marefat)
4) Detachment and serenity (esteghna)
5) Unity (towheed)
6) Awe, bewilderment (hayrat)
7) poverty and nothingness: Sea that has no shore (faqr and fana)

As a first step, the seeker feels the need in him. This is Talab (desire). This is the hardest for many seekers, because of their preoccupation with the mundane affairs of the world.
But reaching the stage of talab is coming close to attainining of Matloob (desired), The talab (desire) and the matloob(desired) are one step closer now.

"een talaeb-kari mobarak jonbeshist
een talab dar rah-e Hagh manea koshist"
this hobby of desiring,is a correct path
as the desire will eliminate hardships on the way to Him
Mathnavi

The seeker now finds himself in the valley of quest (talab). Once the seeker has achieved the joy of desire (talab), he is inspired with heavenly qualities and as his evil inclinations are replaced by the heavenly qualities, now he will be able to face sufferings and hardships which is await him on way. He is now ready to enter the second or valley, the valley of love and longing ( Esh’q). The flames of love transmit the rays of Marefat (knowledge), which is the third stage. The seeker will not reach this stage unless the flame of love has settled in his heart. Unless the seeker has arrived at this stage, he will be unable to fathom the mystries of life and the human soul.

"yek be yek man mishenasam khalgh raa
hamcho ghandom hamcho joe dar aasia "
- Rumi

(I know every individual as they are as if I am distinguishing between wheat and barley at the mill)
At this stage the seeker realizes that beyond this world, it is all His
Court .

"vaz pas-e har zarreh darghahee degar
paes ze har zarreh be-doo rahee degar "
-Attar

(Behind every particle one of His Courts is hidden
therefore through every particle there is a way to Him)
In this Vadee ( stage) the seeker becomes aware of the presence of other
seekers even though he/she may never meet them.

"moemen-o tarsaa jehood-o neek-o bad
jomleghan raa hast roo sooy-e ahaed"
Rumi

(believers, christians, jews and all good and evil
and all others are facing only towards Him"
The seeker is immersed at the attraction of Beloved to all beings and this
pre-occupation with Him guides the seeker to the fourth stage of love
esteghnaa (detachment)........(contd.
